About
A lifelong fascination with pregnancy, birth, and babies led me to attend my first doula training nearly 20 years ago. I then earned my BSN from the University of Pittsburgh, married my high school sweetheart, and moved across the country to Portland, Oregon (we came back - like Pittsburghers so often do!) After a brief stint as an L&D nurse, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to apprentice with an incredible group of Certified Professional Midwives in a busy birth center and homebirth practice.I have had the honor of attending more than 200 births in a variety of roles and settings - from remote mountain cabins to high tech hospitals, and everything in between. I have supported families from preconception through the postpartum period and beyond.I am also the mama of 3 amazing kiddos - Luna, Forest, and Opal - who have taught me so much about the unique needs of newborns and their families. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that having someone knowledgeable and compassionate by your side can make the experience of welcoming a new baby into your family a lot less overwhelming and a lot more enjoyable!
